Random Tuesday Thoughts The Post Holiday Hangover Edition

randomtuesday

It’s Tuesday and happy holidays!  Tuesday means that it is time for Random Tuesday Thoughts, where I share everything I have been thinking about lately.

You might have noticed that I disappeared right before Christmas Eve.  I was kidnapped by a pack of angry wolves (also known as the in-laws).  I have finally escaped.

We had 15 people here for Christmas and no one did one single thing that was funny.  What a waste of a day and all that entertaining.  Can I trade these people for funny guests?  Guests that will sit around cracking one liners while performing amusing activities?  Don’t these people realize that I have a hungry blog to feed and it is their responsibility to provide content?  Next time, they better bring the funny.

Besides Small Town Daddy, no one even bought me a funny gift (Small Town Daddy bought his annual exercise program for me).  Usually, someone comes through with a gift so awful it is worth a laugh.  Not this year.  All my gifts were perfectly respectable.

I spent the past few days after Christmas recovering.  I decided that everything could be accomplished on Christmas Eve and Christmas.  It definitely could be accomplished, if I chose not to sit down or sleep.  Afterwards, I would have loved to take to my bed.  But, remember, I have children, I can’t even take to my bed if I have the swine flu.

I have started working out again (because I am a glutton for punishment and having the children and Small Town Daddy here all the time hasn’t made me miserable enough).  Small Town Daddy gave me EA Sports Active More Workouts for Christmas (because “you need to work out” is just another way of saying “Merry Christmas” around here).  So far, I have worked out twice.  I am not sure why I think I will be able to complete a 6 week workout, since I was never able to complete the 30 day workout.  For some reason, in my head, 42 days is sounds more reasonable than 30.  I am sure I will be distracted by something shiny very soon.

Well, that is it for the mid-holiday edition.  I will be back whenever I can lose the bonds of prison imposed by the Small Town family.  Don’t forget to visit Keely to see what the rest of the Internet is thinking right now.  I hope you are having a fabulous holiday season!

I know what happened this year? Not one funny thing round my way either. Everybody acted like they had good sense. What happened to the good ole’ days of Christmas when you could fill 3 notebooks (not that I have, mind you)with the antics of kooky family memebers? Oh inappropriateness where have you gone?

Nothing funny around here either, unless you count a teenager, whom, now that he has his own cell phone, texts me across the house, instead of walking out to talk to me in person…

Don’t feel bad, the holiday has completely kicked my ass as well. The funniest thing I had to post about was my daughter flying her new helicopter in to the back of my head…I also am in desperate need of an exercise program, but my motivation right now is zero, so I suppose it’s better that nobody gifted me one for Christmas, since it would be collecting dust for a good week or two. Oh well. You’re two workouts are better than nothing.

Sounds like you have an eventful holiday.

    Have a great Tuesday.

What are those unngrateful guests thinking, not bringing their funny to your house?? All that work for nothing.

Good luck with the workouts. I suppose I need to start working out again now that I’m feeling better I’m running out of excuses. Damn, I better think up something fast!

Nothing funny here either but then I didn’t spend the holidays with my family. If I had my sil would have spent the day crying about some stupid thing (I can write that here but not on my own blog) and my brother would have spent the day trying to make here feel better and apologizing to everyone else for her odd behavior.

I know what you mean about hoping for blog fodder from friends and family. Lately there’s been a whole lotta nothing around here to inspire me. The only things I found funny about our Xmas celebration are things that would make people mad if I wrote about them.

I am distracted by Luke and apples…and Luke and apples and grain and Luke and apples and grain.

What was the post about again?

I have to say, I have been very lucky to have wild children (my own of course) to inspire me, but even then, they have been a little less wild than normal. I wonder if they’re also burnt out from all the holiday “fun.”

What is it with family not giving us blog fodder!? Darn them!

It sounds like you had a nice holiday. Maybe the small town family will do better for New Years, as far as bringing the funny.

Isn’t it funny how we get so excited to have new blog material! LOL

Good to hear you had a good Christmas :o )
Keep us posted on EA, I was just looking at maybe getting one. But if you get hurt or loose interest in less then 30 days I will use my money for something shinny! LoL I cancelled my very expensive gym membership because the thing was making things fat like their bank account and my butt from not going!

Happy belated Christmas! My holiday wasn’t too entertaining, either. Good luck with the getting in shape – that is one of my goals for 2010, too!

Thanks for your comment on my post a couple of weeks ago about Santa. It is interesting how some children take the truth much harder than others and it can be a very traumatic experience.

Define respectable, cause, you know, some of us have varying ideas about what respectable is. Heehee.

like you, i am not good in working out too, the very reason probably i took hiking and walking for exercise :(

happy New Year to you and your family.

15 guests and none with blog material!!! Actually, Anne, I think you managed to make everything funny in the account here. Keep on working out. It is good for you. You don’t want to reach my age and still be thinking about it!!!!

  20. Vixen on December 31st, 2009 at 12:44 pm

What is it with people/family not realizing they need to do something entertaining on holidays for blog fodder? Did they not get the memo? I was sure I sent it.

    Happy New Year.

15 people and no one gave you blog fodder? Maybe next year you should invite 15 different people. Just for the sake of your blog. ;)

You sound like me – getting everything done and forgoing sleep to do it. And you’re right – we don’t get ‘sick days’, do we? ;)

I bought myself the EA Sports Active More Workouts…I suppose it would probably work better if I actually took it out of the package. Maybe tomorrow. ;)

Glad you had a great, if uneventful in bloggy terms, Christmas! :)
