Random Tuesday Thoughts, The Clumsy EditionToday is Tuesday. Here at Small Town Mommy, Tuesdays are all about random. Here are some of the things we have been thinking about lately. On Friday night, I fell. I know, I know that makes me sound like I am 100. No, I didn’t break a hip. Small Town Daddy booby trapped the garage and tripped me as I walked out to my car. Yes it was Friday the 13th (I’m just sayin’). I may have mentioned that I am trying desperately to avoid any type of illness. I don’t like illness. I am still recovering from my fall, I don’t want to get sick too. Anyway, yesterday, I was in Joanna’s classroom reading with some of the kids. It is fun except for the potential exposure to germs. First graders have a very slim grasp on hygiene. Anyway, I was reading with a little girl who enjoyed putting her hands into her mouth. And then touching everything around her. I finished reading with her and dove for the hand sanitizer. While I work, I sit here surrounded by animals. I am currently sitting on the bed and Hamlet has his head resting in my lap. Why does my dog like to snuggle? I think it is because I am reluctant to turn up the heat. The cat has even started snuggling under the covers. You know, animals, if you would get a job, you could pay for the heat yourself. No one is going to pay you to sleep all day. That is it for my random Tuesday Thoughts. If you want some more random, stop by Keely’s to check out what others around the Internets have to say. |
Hope that you are feeling better from your fall.
If you’ve managed to stay healthy this long – you don’t want to get sick NOW! Not with the holidays approaching.
Happy Random Tuesday!
Sorry about your fall! Smack Small Town Daddy for me for setting up that booby trap in the garage…
You definitely don’t want to be getting sick now – I was sick during Thanksgiving last year and it kinda sucked not having my taste buds working properly to truly enjoy the feast. Luckily I caught my annual sinus infection early this year so I’m all ready for next week’s feast with fully functioning taste buds…*knock wood*
Heh, I know what you mean about first graders and their aversion to hygiene – Princess Nagger gets tired of me making her wash her hands…often!
Happy RTT – hope you recover from your fall soon!
You should make the Small Town Daddy wait on you while you recover from your fall. It should take about two months to recover. Better yet, you should need to recover somewhere warm and sunny with a beach and a beach boy to tend to your every whim.
What is with husbands who booby trap the garage and animals who box you in while your are working?
Have a great RTT

Sorry you fell, sure if wasn’t from the cocktails and the off the shoulder sweatshirt you were wearing the other day? Seriously I hope you recover quickly. As for the pets, I say that very thing to mine each and every day, I also say it to my children. They are both tall, they could get a job.
I’m like you I am trying to avoid getting sick. I find since I have been working from a home office (7.5yrs now) my immune system is so weak and I seem to get whatever sickness The girl comes home with
( ~ she thinks she is being kind in sharing
Hope the fall wasn’t too bad. I know how you feel though, I just took a trip this fall myself….lol
Well I’m really glad you didn’t break a hip, that would really suck! I’m avoiding getting sick too. I’ve equipped everywhere with Anti-bacterial hand stuff. I found some Vanilla Bean scented one’s from Bath and Body works, and they smell delicious! Of course if I start licking my hands I’ll get drunk from the alcohol. Hey it’s a win win situation!
So sorry about your fall! What’s up with Small Town Daddy booby trapping your garage?? I feel like we are all just swimming in germs all day long whenever we leave the house. It’s so icky out there!
Why are falls as an adult so damn hard? Apart from the humiliation, it’s just painful. Hope you don’t need your hip replaced or anything.
I actually fell when I was pregnant with my youngest, I tripped over the dog and landed on my hands and knees. I was okay but I just sat there on the floor crying over my bruises and cursing the mutt for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
First graders are the worst, so far my son has come home with strep and the flu and it’s only November. Ugh. I’m putting that kid in a bubble, I swear.
As my dad would say, “Have a nice trip, see ya in the fall?” He thinks he’s hilarious. I hope the fall wasn’t too bad. I fall frequently so I feel for ya.
My animals always want to cuddle up next to me too. Either my head or my feet. It can be cute at times but other times it’s very annoying.
Have a great day!
I probably do better with the child with her hand in her mouth, than the cat under the covers, yucko. I really don’t like animals on my bed at all, let alone under the covers with me. I am trying very hard not to get sick too, and the rest of my family. I hope you have tequila on hand, it will help forget the fall LOL.
Yeah, but have you ever noticed that they only want to snuggle when you are busy? Animals!
I hope you don’t get sick. It sucks! As you know!
Sorry about your fall. I don’t blame you for reaching for the sanitiser after you got done reading to that little girl. I think I would have done the same thing.
Oh no – I’m sorry you fell! I hope you are feeling good now (and that goes for health-wise, too, after your day with the 5th graders)! That is cute that your dog is a snuggler
Thank you for the comments on my blog this week. You are the first (aside from my husband) to get to learn that I found my wedding ring today – whew!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who wishes restaurants had more options for kids.
I agree, it’s crazy how many complications can result from pregnancy and afterwards that we generally don’t hear about.
The ‘sitting on your owner’ bit is a dog thing – I have a JRT that is on me as soon as I sit down, with his face as close to mine as I’ll let him get it.
Sorry to hear about the fall!!
Oh isn’t that the truth though about animals… Geez the least they could do is help pay for the heat!
