The Slave and Other Random Tuesday Thoughts

datePosted on 12:10, November 10th, 2009 by Small Town Mommy

Happy Tuesday!  We are going to forgo the whole why we are here today crap, let’s leave it with it’s time to be random.

I have spent the past week as Small Town Daddy’s personal slave (and not in a good way).  Since I work from home, I am the one who gets to take the random (there is that word again) trips to DMV, the car dealer, the post office, etc.  Yes, all these trips were required to replace Small Town Daddy’s car.

Speaking of the new car, I can’t stand our car dealer.  Why do I feel like I need a shower every time I talk to him?  I am going to give you a tip, once you make a sale, stop.  Don’t keep pushing.  It just makes you unpleasant to be around.  I have to go back later this week to return the dealer plates.  Small Town Daddy says they just want to see me again.  Is that because they like my sneer?

My horoscope today says that I need to immerse myself in some good music or a feel-good movie.  I need to get away from it all on an emotional level.  I agree. Too bad I have too much to do.

I got a new phone on Friday.  I then had to return the new phone 2 hours later.  According to the repair guy, I “mangled” the charger and there was no way it could be saved.  I guess I didn’t know my own strength.  Now I am afraid to charge my newer new phone.

I bet you are wondering why I needed a new phone.  I had a perfectly good pink phone that I have had for 3 years (did I mention that it was pink).  I didn’t even close it in the car door like I did with its predecessor.  Since I now work from home, I wanted to be able to use my phone to check my email.  Not my junk email (of which I get quite a bit), but the important emails.  From my friends and readers clients.  Now I can always be reached (I haven’t decided if that’s a good thing, I will let you know).  Sadly, since it is a business phone, it isn’t pink.

On Facebook, I am doing a Thanksgiving thing.  Every day, I need to post something for which I am thankful.  Sadly, today’s entry was that I am thankful I don’t have to go anywhere today (it’s the small things).  I can’t do sweat pant day since both girls have friends coming over (I wouldn’t care with the kids, but their parents will come to pick up at the end of the day.  I should probably get dressed for them).  My schedule this year is not conducive to sweat pant day.  Obviously I have done something wrong with my scheduling and it all needs to be redone.

That is it for my random Tuesday thoughts.  Stop by to visit Keely to see what the rest of the random world is thinking.

Edited: Day was changed to reflect Tuesday rather than Thursday.  Apparently, I really want it to be Thursday so every week I start out wishing everyone a happy Thursday on Tuesday.

Everyday is sweat pants day around here. If someone stops by I tell them I was fixing the furnace and didn’t want to get my jeans dirty. I used to have a pink phone too, and I loved it but I also needed to be reached by clients from my cell phone so I switched to a CrackBerry. It costs tons more, I still haven’t figured out how most of it works and since I never leave the house, except to walk up to the school in my sweats to pick up my kid, I get my emails the old fashioned way. Oh, and I have horrible cell service here so even if someone were to call me I couldn’t receive the call. happy tuesday

I mourn for your pink phone!
I wrecked mine by falling in 1″ of water. For some reason, that 1″ was enough to drench me and destroy my phone that was in my pocket.

Girlfriend, you need to get a tad bit more creative. Put on the sweatpants and an acceptable shirt. Put a plain black skirt next to your desk. When the door bell rings, whip the sweats off and the skirt on! You’ll be stunning – really!

    Happy Tuesday!

I especially can’t stand the dealers who make “jokes” and then start laughing uproariously while they wait for you to join them in their “humor”. I’ve actually left a dealership midsale when the guy couldn’t get the fact that I wasn’t in the mood for “yo’ mama” jokes.

Ok I am thoroughly confused. You started out with Happy Thursday and ended wlith that’s my Tuesday thoughts. What day is it. I think I’ll just go back to bed…lol

There’s that Happy Thursday again. Car dealers are usually pretty slimy although the last guy we went to wasn’t too bad.

We keep telling you if you call them yoga pants you can get away with wearing them. Because you never know when you might need to strike a few yoga poses and you need to be ready. Plus they are so super comfy. Guess what I’m wearing right now???

Oh and peppermint stick ice cream is way better then mint chocolate chip. I once ate too much of the MCC and threw up so just the thought of it makes me sick. If you like peppermint you should try it. It’s really yummy.

Don’t you hate when you mess up what day it is (again) and people notice it (again). Ha ha ha.

I’d still sweat pants it. I have no cares what other parents think of me tho.

    Wait, was your phone pink?

Wow! You’re like Hulk strong, mangling your phone charger and all.

I hate car dealerships and car salesman. It’s never a pleasant experience and I always feel a little dirty afterward.

    Happy Tuesday Thursday.

I know a few moms that wear those designer workout clothes that look comfy and stylish. I love those. If they ever go on sale, I’m trading in my bum around sweats for a set of those. In the meantime I do like the suggestion of calling them yoga pants instead of sweats.

I love sweat pants day. Too bad for my kids I don’t care if their friends parents see me in sweats. If I have a bra on, with clothes, then I am dressed LOL.

EMBRACE SWEAT PANTS! You’d be surprised… it makes the parents who are genuinely normal feel better and makes the ones who are deep-down snobs get all uppity. It’s like the natural separation device that makes it so much easier to find the parents you’d like to go have a cocktail with, from the ones you want to refer for a colonoscopy due to them having a stick up their asses.
