Random Thoughts, More Random Than UsualToday is Tuesday which means it is time for Keely’s Random Tuesday Thoughts. Since I am not in Keely’s head, you only have access to my thoughts here, but if you stop by Keely’s you can read all about her random thoughts too (and maybe even fantasize about her sleeping if that is your thing). I have mentioned in the past that one of the things I do is work with a group of au pairs. This weekend, we took the au pairs to a local amusement park. My souvenir from the amusement park was another case of the plague. I have decided that I should never again go to any type of amusement park. I can spend days in the big city with all the swine flu, but send me to an amusement park and I am instantly knocked on my butt by the plague. I have discovered that apparently the bumper cars is where all the morons in an amusement park congregate (so you can go watch or avoid the area, depending on your interest in morons). First, there was a guy there with a toddler. He wanted to take his toddler on the bumper cars. The ride operator told him the toddler wasn’t tall enough. That if someone hit him, the restraint would be unable to keep him in the car. The guy then proceeded to argue with the ride operator to get her to let him take his kid on the ride. What kind of dumbass argues with someone when they tell you the ride isn’t safe for your kid? Is his kid that unimportant to him that he wants to take his life in his hands? It isn’t like kids have never died on amusement park rides. Then I was watching the other riders (while the man whose son was too small sulked in the corner). They managed to get into a big pile of cars and no one could move. The operator was giving the drivers simple instructions (turn the wheel). She eventually had to turn off the ride and move the cars by hand because no one could figure out how to make it work. Joanna later went on the kiddy bumper cars and apparently the kids are much smarter than the adult riders. They were able to figure out how to move (it bodes well for the future of our country). Libby is going to an art camp this week from 12-2:30 pm. It is totally throwing off my schedule. I am having trouble figuring out how to get everything done in a day. I seem to have the attention span of a gnat and keep getting distracted by something shiny. I got nearly nothing accomplished yesterday (but I did spend a fair amount of time driving around). You know that I have to comment on Jon and Kate since they are in the news again. I know a lot of people don’t like Kate, but I can relate to her. I have a strong sense of order and can only imagine the chaos caused by 8 kids. And I think if I were married to someone as clueless as Jon, I would be a screaming shrew too. But anyway, I now think Jon is just really dumb. When you are in the process of divorce, it is a bad idea to appear in People magazine with the new girlfriend. Especially when the soon to be ex-wife is captured having a picnic in the yard with your 8 kids. It doesn’t reflect well and probably wont serve you well for your divorce settlement. When going through a divorce, try to avoid providing your soon-to-be ex-wife with court ammunition in the form of tabloid photography. Lately, I have been watching Tori and Dean, Home Sweet Hollywood. Yesterday I realized that if it didn’t star Tori Spelling, it would be the most boring show ever. The big story I watched yesterday was their 2 year old is sick and misses his birthday party and Dean unloads his motorcycles. If I were an actress, I could totally have a reality show. My life is just as boring as theirs. Hear that television producers? The Small Town family will be really boring on television for cash. Call me. That’s it, we’re done. Have fun a keep it real (for my new reality show). |
I am very sorry you are sick again. That just sucks in the summer.
I on the other hand am happily hanging things up in my goat house thanks to my new magnets. Thank you very much. Now I just have to keep Abby from eating them. Any tips?
You and amusement parks just don’t seem to get along. Hope the plague clears up soon. I love the bumper cars and I’m so not bumper car challenged like those people you saw. Stacy and I were talking about Jon from Jon & Kate this morning. He is soooo cashing in on his kids. If they hadn’t had done the show he’d just be a bald overweight I.T. guy with 8 kids. I can’t wait until his 15 minutes of fame are up. I’d watch The Smalltown Mommy reality show. Give us a call if you need any guest stars!
That sucks that you’re sick again, I’m sorry.
As to the bumper cars, 1. That guy is an idiot. 2. Somehow it doesn’t surprise me that the kids worked the cars better than the adults. No wonder our country is so screwed right now!
Yeah, Jon is a halfwit, I agree.
Feel better soon!
I would much rather watch “Small Town Mommy” than practically any celebrity-based reality show. Except maybe “The Osbournes.” That was some funny stuff.
I’d watch your boring show, unless you just got sick a lot. Then I’d move on because it would get boring like the other shows.
I’ve said all along that Kate is NOT the problem. I’m very much like her, and Jon is passive aggressive like my husband. Unless you live with one of those guys, you don’t spot the problem in the marriage. He’s a weinie. And now he’s got a girlfriend??! That’s swell.
I was never a Jon & Kate watcher, but I’d watch Small Town Mommy in a heartbeat.
Sorry you’re sick – I’ll try not to cough on you and make you worse…hope you feel better soon!
Happy RTT!
I KNOW. I have one at camp from 1 to 4 and another from 12:30 to 3:30. I can’t do a darn thing either, what’s up with us? This can’t be that hard to organize. Sigh.
I hope you get to feeling better. Yeah I saw that Jon and his girlfriend on TMZ. Stupid guy if you ask me.
Oh I heard that Jon thing. Apparently the girl is 23 and the daughter of the doctor that gave Kate a tummy tuck. I think the whole thing is sad especially for the kids.
LOL your observations of human nature make me laugh. I do not like Jon or Kate, and I feel sorry for their children. I think he is a pig, and she well I can’t really say what I think of her. The other show I never heard of. I hope you get over the plague soon.
I don’t watch reality shows anymore they seem to be filled with the same boringness.
As far as Jon and Kate go, I’m tired of seeing them all over the magazines and newspapers. Neither one of them deserves to be a celebrity. And I feel awful for the kids. They’re going to have to go through life knowing America saw the whole divorce.
I loved this post! I laughed out loud about the bumper cars and adults vs children. That was crazy about the dad with the toddler. Geesh, he’ll be ready soon enough, chances are he probably wouldn’t enjoy it anyway if he’s not old enough.
I used to LOVE amusement parks and since my 15 month old has been spinning in circles lately and diving off the couch, I’m beginning to think he’s taken after me (my husband gets ill just walking in the entrance). However, it’s been 10 years since I’ve been and I might not be what I used to. Since last month I was in a car on a road with too many hills and thought I was going to get car sick
Anyway, thanks for the comment on my webinar post. Hope you have a great rest of the day.
What was that dad at the bumper cars thinking? He must not be all there.
I don’t watch any of those reality shows but Jon and Kate are all over the news so that is hard to avoid. I can’t wait until their saga is all over.
Have a wonderful day!
