Soap from a Goat, Who Would Have Thought

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered soap from a goat.  Granted, the goat totally rocks, but it still sounds kind of strange.  I was talked into it by Crotchety, a blogger who is dedicated to making his readers laugh (and buy soap from a goat).

Let me explain.  The goat is Pricilla (as in Queen of the Desert, while she is not in the desert, she is a queen).  Pricilla has a blog called The Maaaaa of Pricilla. It reads like a goat soap opera.  There are new babies, dating, jealousy and goat fighting.  There are also goat ghosts.  It is really awesome.

Pricilla lives with a woman she calls “The Publicist.”  The publicist uses the goats’ milk to make soap (I guess it is only the female goats, but whatever).  She makes all different kinds of soap.  While I am not a fan of soaps that smell like food, there are a lot of them if you like that kind of thing.  There are also soaps that don’t smell like food, but smell like flowers and other fabulous things (I didn’t see any soaps that smell like goat, which is probably a good thing).

My soap arrived on a weekend.  I opened the packaged and one of those little guest soaps fell out.  I was a little disappointed until I realized that Pricilla (or the publicist) had sent me a sample of another soap with my order.  As a sample, it is huge.  Also in the envelope was the soap I had ordered.  Not small at all, it was perfect soap size.  It smells beautiful.  I got the lavender scent because I could use some relaxation (I am considering doing all of Libby’s laundry in it, in the hopes that she will be less snippy).  I have used the soap for a few weeks and really like it.  I am not usually a soap person (I typically use Ivory), but Pricilla’s soap is so much softer than Ivory.  Soft may not be the right word, but it is the only way I can think of to describe it.  You just want to touch the lather and cuddle with it a little (do you think I am spending too much time alone).  If you need soap, I highly recommend Pricilla’s soap (can’t remember the name of the company, but you can get there from Pricilla’s blog).  Where else can you buy soap where you actually know the goat who produced the ingredients?

Well you have made me a REALLY Happy Goat! I am glad you liked my rich soap. I work very hard to eat the right greens so that my milk is good and rich.

    The publicist just works hard….

I’m fond of soaps made of goat’s milk too.it’s creamy and rich,it moisturizes better than ordinary soaps.it’s highly recommended for those with dry skin.i myself have seen and felt the change on my skin.when you’re stressed out,you really tend to get dull skin. but it can be helped by a lot of skin care products, even a goat’s milk soap.

Goat milk? That’s interesting. I also love to buy one if we have it here in the Philippines. :) Might as well look for one now… :)
