Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

It is here again, time for Random Tuesday Thoughts.  This was started by Keely from the UnMom and I am all about the random.  Here we go…

When Libby came home from school yesterday, she seemed fine (all that guilt for nothing).  While she didn’t want to go to school, she did want to go visit her friend next door when she got home.  She sounds awful (all horse and mucusy), but she seems to feel fine.  I put her to work and made her put away her laundry.  This morning, she remembered that complaining about feeling sick limits your after school options and hasn’t mentioned it.

Small Town Daddy has swiped my computer.  He is convinced that the problem isn’t the computer, it is me (my friend Eryn from the Homeschooled Year appears to agree).    I have ordered a Mac since they are not supposed to crash or get viruses.  We’ll see if they are truly as idiot proof as promised when it arrives today.

Daylight Saving is totally kicking Joanna’s butt.  While she is always difficult to get up in the morning, she has been harder than usual the last couple of days.  Meanwhile, I can’t sleep and am waking up at 3:30 in the morning.  While I am getting a lot done, I figure the end result will not be pretty.  Remind me, what is the benefit of daylight saving?

Today is sweatpant day.  Every week, I try to designate one day as sweatpant day.  It is the day that I have no meetings and don’t have any appointments for the girls.  I am starting to think that sweatpant day is my favorite day.  Does that make me frumpy?

Stop by the UnMom and check out some of the other randomness in the world.  And, have a great day!

What?! You mean every day I’m home isn’t sweatpant, I mean, yoga pants day? Crap! I’m in trouble. Call them yoga pants and you won’t feel so frumpy. You’ll look like your ready to do yoga at a moments notice. At least, that’s what I’m going for.

I think the benifit of daylight savings time was so that some dude could play golf later in the day. : )

    Great Randomness

Yea for the Mac! I am telling you it is worth it. No more viruses and no more expensive software that pretends it will get rid of viruses!

I am absolutely not a fan of Daylight Savings Time, either…throws me off every time. And I usually don’t get adjusted to it until it’s time to change it back again! Hope Libby’s feeling better soon! Enjoy your MAC – I wish I didn’t already have so many PC software packages so I could switch to a MAC…I’m kinda stuck with a PC. :)

    Happy Random Tuesday! :)

Daylight savings is my nemesis. I wish it destroyed.

  6. Peggy on March 10th, 2009 at 8:40 am

Get Old Navy’s yoga pants! They don’t look quite as frumpy as sweats and are so comfy…sometimes I just sleep in them! I own three pair…all black! hahaha!

  7. Dori on March 10th, 2009 at 8:53 am

    I’m a yoga pants girl too :-)

  8. Linda on March 10th, 2009 at 9:08 am

Daylight Savings time is kicking my butt too. I can not get adjusted.

  9. GreenJello on March 10th, 2009 at 9:56 am

I really, really, REALLY hate daylight savings time. Just pick a time and stick with it. Sheesh.

  10. Keely on March 10th, 2009 at 10:13 am

As long as you keep it to one day, I think you’re good ;)

We don’t have daylight savings here. Twice a year, there’s actually a reason to live here.

Sweatpants day definitely does NOT make you frumpy. In fact I think I may dedicate one day to sweatpants too!

Can’t we make every day sweat pant day? I actually don’t own but one pair, but they are so comfy I’m rethinking my entire wardrobe, which coincidentally does cry out “frumpy” but only in the coolest way. Glad Libby’s okay, guilt averted. ;)

Every day is sweatpant day for me! I never go anywhere, so why not. Good luck with your new computer. I hope it works better than your old one.

I’m sorry that daylight savings is causing you trouble! No, sweats don’t make you frumpy, they make you human!

I enjoy reading your blog. I have left you an award on my blog. Congratulations!

Daylight savings is kicking my butt this time around.

I think I might have to steal the sweat pant day idea – I like it.

Daylight Savings Time means longer periods of daylight when the weather gets nicer. So, in that way, it is a good thing. I’d rather have that even though the loss of one hour is a pain.

I was just telling my husband this morning that it takes me at least a week to recover from the time change.

And, I love the idea of Sweatpant Day!

  19. frogmama on March 10th, 2009 at 7:49 pm

Daylight Savings Time is making me feel like a walking zombie. I feel so old. And re: Sweatpant Day, you’re not frumpy. You’d be frumpy if you wore so many sweatpants that one day was called No Sweatpant Day.

  20. Eryn on March 10th, 2009 at 8:53 pm

    LMAO! ANNE! I WAS KIDDING!

I hear the “What did you do to this computer?!?” guilt ALL the time lol

Hope I didn’t make you feel bad! You know I’m always on your side, not the Small Town Hubby’s, since I know he would agree with my husband.

I think I’m gonna start joining in on Random Tuesdays, I have so much fun reading everyone elses!

  21. Eryn on March 10th, 2009 at 8:57 pm

Also, almost every day here is sweatpant day….I buy very specific sweat pants that have no elastic in them, so that I may wear them all the time, without feeling frumpy.

Find some, and then buy a dozen pair! No one will know it’s sweatpants day!

  22. FoN on March 10th, 2009 at 10:18 pm

Sweat pant day…that is great! I want sweat pant day.

I live in Saskatchewan, the only place in north america that doesn’t have day light savings. Why do you want it you ask? Because no one needs light at 4 am. Other than the cows, and screw them, I say!

  23. Laurel Santiago on March 11th, 2009 at 9:42 am

I used to have a MAC that crashed all the time, but that was a long time ago.

Oh, I need a sweatpants day! I feel your pain with computers ~ lost my sound & thought I needed a new sound card & it ended up being I needed a new driver. Had to have tech guru next door neighbor help out. DH knows squat about computers!

Stop by & see my WW Winter in CT!

I lived in a part of Indiana that did not have DLST. It was great! I was told it all started because the Farmers needed more Day light. There are no farmers In the City. It is too dark for the kids to wait for the school bus.
I guess if we did away with it after awhile; our Day might be night and visa versa.
My child will not stay home from school. She loves being with her school friends. When she was little and got sick,I would make her stay in bed. Mostly because I did not want all to get it. Kept the germs in one place. Must have impacted her.
Sweats I do not wear them, never have. Should try some on.:->
