Based on the response to yesterday’s post, reader consensus seems to be that I am totally behind the times. I didn’t expect that to be the case until Libby reached her teens (sigh). Everyone was very nice about it, but the whole world (except me, apparently) had already heard the Mom Song. Sorry about that. From now on, I am going to stick with my strength and only post 80′s music (don’t run away, it isn’t coming now). Now the big news. I have gotten so many wonderful suggestions (and even better, some that made me laugh) for GPS names. Leanne from Tired Mama suggested Romeo since my dog is named Hamlet. Preston from Me and the Blue Skies appears to know me better than I would expect. He suggested George so I could confuse my neighbors and friends (I live to confuse, although I have an ex-boyfriend named George so the hubby might not like that). Kreations from Native American Momma suggested Stewie from Family Guy (which I love since it ties into my plans to take over the world) or Alfred from Batman (which my husband likes since he is a superhero geek fan). I even considered seeing if I could change the voice for the boy names. Then I heard from The Mind of a Mom and realized she was right. She pointed out that changing the voice would mean that some man was telling me what to do. The required response to this is a slap and it isn’t good to hit the GPS. So, I had to eliminate all the boy names (sigh). But that still left me with so many great choices from so many people I like. How could I tell if I like a suggestion because it is such a great name or because it was suggested by my BFF. That is where you come in. I NEED YOUR HELP (yes, you, the one sitting right there. It wont involve a lot of effort). I have added a poll to my sidebar. These are the suggested names for my GPS (eliminating the boy names and any that contained language I can’t use in front of my children). I need you to vote. Tell me which name you like. Whichever name gets the most votes will be the name of my GPS unit (and the person who provided it will receive a lovely link, effusive praise and (if they are on Entrecard) 500 credits. I am counting on you to choose a name that will sound good when I use it to praise my GPS unit, as well as when I am yelling at it because I it missed a turn and got snippy with me. Please vote! Thank you! |
I hadn’t seen the video, so you’re not the only one behind the times!
Hey! I already won, I got a link…
I’m gonna go vote, but I can’t see you calling it PMS in front of your daughters, but I did laugh….
So, I’ll pick another.
I always lean toward cliche, so I had to vote for Miss Daisy… Can’t wait to see the final results
I loved watching the video again–it’s hilarious! Take good care!
Heidi Claire… that is funny! (Couldn’t resist voting for that one)
I voted!
Hey, you won a prize over at my blog! Thanks for participating! You rock! And thank you for putting me on your blogroll. I will return the favor.
Voted! Some of these are too funny.
What a creative bunch of readers you’ve got!
I’ll call my vote. This sure is an interesting poll!
I like Miss Daisy!!!
You could post that video a hundred times and I still wouldn’t get tired of watching it…just so you know!
Some very creative names!
I voted!
I must be behind the times too Anne, lol! Yes I agree some very creative names. I voted too. Happy Saturday to you and yours.
Personally I would have gone with Stewie, I just voted for Flor, but you’d have to roll the R to make is sound exotic.
Florrrr.
I like to say Where in Fugarwee and just name it Fugarwee (you don’t have to publish this, but it’s so apropo LOL
I’d definitely stay away from “George”. I voted for “Oracle”. Very chic and has relevant meaning.
Davida
My gosh, some of the names are so thoughtful and creative. I hope I could choose more than 1. ha.. I voted, and seems like it’s one of the toppest choices from all of other readers too. Glad the others like it as much. ^^
