Sweet and Sour in the Small Town

Happy March 1!  Does this mean that winter is over?  Wait here, let me go dig out my bikini (Only kidding, I don’t wear a bikini.  No one needs to see that).

Actually, I don’t mind winter.  I like being all warm and cozy.  And there is nothing cozier than being snowed in with my loved ones.  Ok, that’s all the sap for today.

Speaking of sap, it’s maple syrup time.  I wonder if we have any maple trees.  Although making maple syrup sounds like a lot of work.  I think I would rather take the girls to a farm and watch someone else do the sugaring.  I know, most of you don’t even think about things like where maple syrup comes from.  But most of you don’t live in a small town in New England.  That’s the sweet of this post.

And here’s the sour.  I had to get my tax info together this morning.  There’s 2 hours of my life I will never get back.  It’s also not looking promising that I will get any money back either so it’s a lose all around.  I hate when that happens.

Have you done your taxes or are you a procrastinator like me?

It only took you two hours to get your tax stuff together? It took my human 8! And now she has to do her dad’s tax prep, and then go to Morro Bay, where his CPA is, which means that is another day and a half out of her life! You have it easy.

I’ve been seeing the buckets going up on the trees around here. I’ve never made syrup myself but my brother has and so has my cousin. I graciously volunteered as a taste tester :)

Mmmm, maple trees. I bet they would taste good. I doubt taxes would taste as good.

I’m very food centric. Have you noticed?
