Here I Go Again in the Small Town

I love to read.  While I don’t have a lot of time for it, I grab time whenever I can (I have a few scars from reading while I was trying to cook).  I have a few favorite genres, one of which is humor.  I love funny books whether they are autobiographical, chick lit, mystery or current events.

One of my very favorite authors is Jen Lancaster.  I first discovered Jen with her book Bitter is the New Black.  I have since read everything she has ever written.

Her latest book is Here I Go Again.  It is her second foray into fiction and had me laughing as much as her first, If You Were Here.  Here I Go Again is about Lissy Rider, a former queen bee at her high school.  Lissy discovers a way to travel back in time to change her past in an attempt to improve her future (don’t we all wish we could do that).

This is not a book you want to read in public.  Unlike the embarrassment of reading 50 Shades of Gray (being thought a sex maniac), this one features the embarrassment of laughing out loud to yourself (this actually happened to me with this book).

You are really missing out if you don’t check out Jen Lancaster.  As one of my favorite authors, Here I Go Again, is one of her best.

You can read more about Here I Go Again and some of the key themes at BlogHer Book Clubs.

Who is your favorite author?

This review is part of a compensated campaign but all opinions expressed are my own.  I would have purchased the book if it hadn’t been given to me for the review.

Can’t say that I have a favorite author but I have always preferred a good mystery over anything else

I have been broadening my author selection due to all the free ebooks from Barnes and Nobles but I particularly like Stephen King, Ann Rice, Clive Cussler, Dean Koontz, etc

I’m like that when I read “The Bloggess.” My family knows whose blog I’m reading when I’m laughing out loud.

No favorite authors these days, but I have been reading some good books of late. LOVE to read…but there is never enough time.

To me all books taste the same. Hardbacks are a little more difficult to chew though…
