Cold in the Small Town: What the Hell!?!

datePosted on 12:39, January 23rd, 2013 by Small Town Mommy

Today is What the Hell Wednesday.  This is when we share some of the things that are driving me crazy right now.  Thanks to the ladies of Blue Monkey Butt who started What the Hell Wednesday!

I keep hearing people complain about the cold, WTH!?!  It’s January people, of course it’s cold out (unless you live in Florida, then you are basking in the sun).

I do keep checking my kitchen sink to make sure the water is still flowing, WTH!?!  My kitchen pipes have a tendency to freeze so I have to keep my eye on them.

Tomorrow is my (soon to be) 10 year old’s birthday.  I can’t believe she is going to be double digits, WTH!?!  I can’t believe my youngest is going to be a preteen.

Of course, I have to make cupcakes for her, WTH!?!  Not only do I have to make cupcakes for school but I also have to make a cake for home.  She is going to be so stuffed with cake products she is going to explode.

Because tomorrow isn’t busy enough with Joanna’s birthday and work, I have decided to get my hair cut, WTH!?!  While that may not sound like a big deal, it takes an hour and a half to cut my hair (I have a lot of hair). I always wait until that point when my hair is driving me crazy to even think about a hair cut.  After it starts to drive me crazy I usually wait a few weeks until I am almost over the edge.  Then I go to get it cut.  Since I now have a stylist, I have to make an appointment (bye, bye SuperCuts).  That means I have to wait an additional week.  I may have to rethink my method of getting my hair done.  I am now at the point where I can’t take it anymore.

So what has been driving you crazy lately?

I don’t like to get my hair cut either and it is in desperate need of a trim now. My problem is I don’t NEED a stylist and can go to Great Clips or something like that but they NEVER listen to me when I go in. I have LAYERED hair people and its LONG and THICK. When I say I’d like to have a couple inches off of it that means make more layers after you take off the edge don’t just go straight across.

Everytime I go in now I say I have layered hair. I want to KEEP the layered hair. Just take a couple inches off and add more LAYERS as can be added.

I’m with ya on the cold. We’ve had TWO cold days. TWO. And people are acting like we’ve been freezing for 6 months. Really? Because this summer we spent the ENTIRE summer indoors because it was too freaking HOT. Give me the cold and the snow…I’m lovin’ it!

You should schedule regular hair appointments like 5 or 6 weeks apart. That way, just when your hair starts to drive you crazy, you will notice that you already have an appointment on the calendar! It’s great.

I just let my furs grow. They keep me warm in the cold.

Guilty as charged. I’m one of the ones complaining about the cold…lol
I do the same thing with haircuts. I wait way too long and then have to force myself to make the appointment when I can’t take it any more. I’ve also resorted to cutting it myself.

I agree people shouldn’t complain about the cold. It’s the winter. Hello. However, I would be much happier with this cold weather, if we had SNOW accompanying it.

Awwww! Happy 10th Birthday to your daughter, Joanna!! And hooray for cupcakes.

I wait forever to get my hair cut too. I alway have my hair up anyway, so it doesn’t matter how long I let it go. I’m usually more concerned with coloring it than cutting it.

The only thing driving me crazy these days are my annoying medical conditions. I’ve been having non-stop flair ups and it’s been quite frustrating.

I let my hair grow until it drives me crazy too. I’ve just started going to a stylist and getting my hair colored, gotta love those grays, and actually scheduling my next appointment when I’m done instead of waiting until it’s super obvious I need it colored.

Mmmm..cupcakes. Now I want some cake products. Happy Birthday to Joanna! 10 is a big year. Hope she had a great time.

I’m not such a fan of the bitter cold and for the record, I hate January. I wish I could hibernate for the whole month.

    Thanks for joining us again!
