Numerous times in the past, I have mentioned our Wii and how much we all love it. I recently discovered another game. I am embarrassed to admit this because the game is for teenage boys and I love it anyway. That’s right, the game is Guitar Hero. The first time I played it, I thought it was the dumbest thing ever. Then I figured out how to play and I am hooked. I am the family Guitar Hero champ (that’s right, me, not Small Town Daddy). I have unlocked all of the songs from Guitar Hero and have made it through an entire game. I have the record for most of the songs (except those that Libby wont allow me to play so she can keep the high score in those songs. I will admit that Guitar Hero is easier if you have studied an instrument. I took piano lessons for a million years and it’s nice to see that they have paid off. Libby has started taking trumpet this year and it seems to help her with Guitar Hero as well. For Christmas, the girls received Dance, Dance Revolution. Right now, I feel about Dance, Dance Revolution the way I originally felt about Guitar Hero. So far, neither of the girls like it. Maybe someday I will become the family champ at that too. First I have to learn how to avoid tripping over my own feet. |
i’m the quitar hero queen in my house as well. i’ve unlocked all the songs and have never been beaten by my husband. i just can’t seem to get my pinky to work to move up the the medium level though. that is what i’ll be working on in the new year.
Last year my son got DDR. All the kids are great at it and wanted me to play too. I refused until they went back to school and I could practice, alone. I’m not as good as the kids but I don’t suck. It’s a lot of fun. If you like guitar hero you should try Rock Band. not only can you play the guitar and the drums but you get to sing too. It’s a hoot.
My sister loves the bowling game. I would love to try this new gig out. I guess I’ll have to wait until after my new grand baby comes and my surgery is done, lol! I hope you all are having an awesome weekend Anne.
I bought Guitar Hero for my hubby (yes, he’s a kid at heart!) and while I enjoy watching him (make a fool of himself…giggle!) I haven’t tried it as of yet…I suppose I’ll have to do that now, though, and maybe I’ll become the Guitar Hero Queen of our house!
I too am a fan of Guitar Hero! This year the boys got the World Tour band kit! And yes I love that too! I love the drums, and singing the songs. Unfortunately, I can’t carry a tune, and my boys hate when I choose to be the singer! Rock on!
I thought it was a teen’s dream game, too, but I know so many adults who love Guitar Hero. Me? I don’t know which I’d be worst at: GH or DDR.
We have Guitar Hero, too, and although I love to play it, I stink! LOL! Have you tried Wii Fit? That’s fun, too. Even our kids like it.
You are a mom after my own heart! If we had this game, I’d be playing it as well. I’ll settle for the Mario Kart for now – if only I could stay on the darn road! You rock!
I am here to confess my ignorance and desire. First, the desire: Our family doesn’t have a video game system, but I’ve been hearing great things about the Wii Fit (for me) and Guitar Hero (for my two daughters and their basement girl band). Now, the ignorance: what system do I need to own to enjoy both Wii Fit and Guitar Hero? Do I need to buy a Wii base system and then everything else is an add-on module? I know I’m not alone in my ignorance, as Santa left the wrong thing at one of my friends’ houses this year and no one was playing anything there on Christmas, as the kids have outgrown playing with the boxes their toys came in… anything you can do to enlighten me is much appreciated.
Roxy
Rock on! I am so jealous. I guess I’ll have to wait until next Christmas and ask Santa for that. We just got Wii fit this year, so one thing at a time. =-) Keep on Rockin!
It’s for teen boys? Really? Everyone I know who plays it is my age, lol!
Isn’t it FUN? I am not as good as you are…but I do love playing!
Hee Hee Hee. Too funny. We have the game but I must admit I haven’t played it yet. Maybe tomorrow after I get off the Wii fit!
*giggles* I’ve heard that Guitar Hero is a lot of fun! I like your reviews–we haven’t gotten any new Wii games lately, but I appreciate hearing other people’s opinions on them
Cathy, we should set up a Small Town Guitar Hero tournament.
Jen, Rock Band sounds awesome, I could be the entire band!
Jodi, Joanna rocks at bowling, she is a shark.
Stacy, it takes a man comfortable in his masculinity to be beaten by his wife at Guitar Hero.
Stacy, I can’t carry a tune either. That would make it more fun.
Roxy, I am going to send you an email. People always ask my husband about what to get with the Wii.
Patois, so far, DDR is not my friend.
Gibby, we love our Wii Fit although it weighs me all the time and comments on my weight.
Julie, I can’t play MarioKart. I can’t control the stupid wheel.
Ken, Wii Fit is awesome, Enjoy!
Keely, that makes me feel good too since you are younger than me.
Jenni, practice makes perfect and I have wasted a fair amount of time with my GH.
Leanne, you have to try more than once. Also, the training in the front might help.
Nicole, we love our Wii.
I am NOT the guitar hero queen in my house. I swear after about 5 songs I begin to experience symptoms of carpal tunnel. I AM, however; Guitar Hero LEAD SINGER. We got GH World Tour for the “kids” and you can get a mic and sing so that works well for me. DH can keep his high guitar scores.
