Back in the Small Town

datePosted on 08:57, August 23rd, 2010 by Small Town Mommy

Things are finally getting back to normal.  Yes, the kids still haven’t started school but we were away last week and I had extremely limited Internet access.  Now that we are back home, I have my Internet back so I can return to my life.  For our family vacation, we took a cruise to Canada.  I had never been to Canada so I was very excited about my first trip.  I thought you might like to see some of our memories…

Here is a photo of our ship…

We had a steward who was responsible for cleaning our room (I need a steward).  He would leave us towels shaped like animals every day.  This is the rare penis frog…

We had great weather (if you are a vampire)…

We visited beautiful St. John, New Brunswick.  Here are Libby and I learning about the fascinating Canadian history…

While on the ship, there was a thrilling water slide (notice my gorgeous expression of distaste)…

We really had an amazing time but I am glad to be home.  I went through Internet withdrawal when I discovered that Internet cost $24.00 per hour.  I was able to occasionally use my phone to access the Internet but I felt very isolated.  I am glad to be reconnected and I have missed all of you.

Ooooh, vampire weather. That little boat is pretty cute! The penis frog is kind of scary, but I would have fallen over laughing had I come home to find that in my hotel bathroom. My fiance lives in Toronto, so we travel back and forth a lot, but that’s about the extent of my seeing Canada. I get to see a lot of Ontario from the car window, and then the big, stinky city–which despite it’s smell and wretched traffic, is really beautiful at night.

Welcome home! I love your expression on the water slide.

I actually require at least one week without Internet a year. In fact, more and more I find that I need longer and longer breaks. But to do without it completely? Don’t even think about it.

Come to California next year. We have traffic, smog, road rage and wackos but the internet is always available.

Funny, I left my towels on the bathroom floor this morning in hopes the steward would come pick them up.

So that’s what a penis frog looks like. 🙂
Vacations are nice but it sure is great to get back home again. $24.00 an hour is outrageous.

That boat is hilarious! Was that really your boat?? Looks like a ton of fun and they did you a favor by charging that much for internet access. That way you would spend time away from the computer–Hooray! Maybe that is their point????

Welcome home! It sounds like you had a fun on your cruise, despite the weather and educational moments, haha. The ship looks like a little toy! And what is with the penis frog? LOL. The real question is, did you go down the slide a second time?

    Goat poop!
The publicist forgot to give you the places to visit.
She is an idiot. Although it sounds like the penis frog might have not let you go anyway.

    Sorry the weather sucked.

$24 an hour for internet? It should come with a shirtless, muscular cabana boy to bring you drinks while you browse for that much money! (not that I would take advantage of that deal or anything:)

I LOVED the towel animals on our cruise ship. My favorite was the monkey. I didn’t like them enough to get up at 6 a.m. for the class that would teach me how to make them.

I had to check back to see how your cruise went on Carnival Glory. We cruise in about a month. Your weather looked pretty awful. Just saying.

We aren’t bringing any electronics (except our camera) so we don’t care about blogging or anything else. We can read and explore all the different islands and just enjoy. I’m so ready for some warmth.

    Have a terrific day. 🙂
