Clothes, Tape and More Clothes, WTH?

datePosted on 09:43, January 27th, 2010 by Small Town Mommy

The girls at Blue Monkey Butt started What the Hell Wednesday to give bloggers the opportunity to share some of the things that are bugging them.  Since I usually have something to complain about, I jumped right on that bandwagon.  So here we go for WTH Wednesday.

Every night, my seven year old, Joanna comes into my bed in the middle of the night.  Since I am already asleep, I just kind of roll over to get out of her way when she joins us.  I know, I know, that alone sounds like a WTH, but since she has done this practically since birth I can’t start objecting now.  It doesn’t even faze me anymore.  The WTH is when I woke up this morning, I noticed she was dressed.  When I asked if she had slept in her clothes, she said no, she had gotten dressed when she got up to come into my room.  Apparently, Joanna is tired of rushing so she thought she would save time by getting dressed in the middle of the night.  She was still late for the bus.

I have come up with an idea for a new business that I think is brilliant.  My only concern is that no one else has ever come up with it.  It seems really obvious to me.  WTH?  Am I really as smart as I think I am or have other people already failed at my idea.   Not sure where to go with it from here.

While professionally, I am always on top of things, personally, I appear to be completely inept.  Joanna’s Daisy troop is putting together goody bags and valentines for soldiers recovering in a hospital somewhere in Texas.  I was given 1 job, pack the box and take it to the post office.  So, of course, I can’t find packing tape.  WTH is wrong with me?  I was given 1 job and I can’t even follow through.  How can I be so together about some things and so ineffectual with others?

I just looked down and noticed a giant smear of chocolate on my sleeve.  WTH?  Apparently I eat like a toddler.  I am not sure how it got there or how long it has been there.  Since I am not 100 % positive that it is chocolate, I am not going to taste it, but since any alternatives are unimaginable I am going with chocolate.  I guess I better go change my shirt.

While I am changing clothes, don’t forget to stop by and check out Elle and Stacy from Blue Monkey Butt.  They are always good for a laugh and they probably aren’t currently wearing their food.

As I sit here laughing I wonder how many times I have had some mystery substance on my sleeve. You didn’t say what your new business idea is.

OMGosh! When I went in to wake up my 8 yr old son yesterday he was already dressed too! He also for some odd reason got himself dressed in the wee morning hours, and still managed to make us late for school!

I remember reading in some parent tip book long ago that dressing kids or having them get dressed for the day the night before was a good idea for families in a hurry every morning. SO Joanna is right up on things!!!

Too funny about the chocolate! And yeah, my kids used to come to my room, pull out my waterbed drawers (remember those) and use them as stairs to get up into the bed. I would reach over in my sleep, grab the diaper or pants and swoop them up and over to the middle. I can totally understand.

My 6 year old comes in almost every night but, since his 3 year old sister is already in the bed he prefers I get out of bed and “snuggle him” in his bed. How do you say “no” to that?

It’s chocolate…I swear it is. It could be a brilliant idea. Check into it more. Whatever it is.

Too funny about your daughter getting dressed to save time. Maybe she should have had her breakfast then too and she would have made the bus on time :)

J-Man usually doesn’t get into our bed in the middle of the night anymore. He likes to fall asleep there at night but we move him. That’s funny she got dressed in the middle of the night. At least she tried. LOL!

A new business idea? What is it? Of course telling everyone might not be the best idea. But you could just tell us ;)

I’m terrible at follow-through, really just terrible.

I’m going with chocolate. I find those spots too.

Thanks for joining us for WTHW!

I had to laugh so hard at Joanna, The girl did the same thing the other day. I have been out of town for work and she could not miss the bus because she had an exam so she decided to sleep dressed to save time in the morning because if she missed the bus she was S.O.L ~ I think they are clever!

My daughter started getting dress in the middle of the night this week too. I wonder if schools aren’t teaching them something new? She was still late for school.

I usually have some unknown substance on my clothing. I don’t taste it either.

Maybe the smear is there so that if you need some chocolate later you have it handy. Waste not want not, ya know.

I always have chocolate on me somewhere. I blame that on hersey kisses, not me. Because the tip of them always falls off without you knowing! I always have good intentions of doing things, but don’t end up doing them. And yes, I am very organized at work, but not at home, maybe because they pay me to be organized…I don’t get paid to do it at home.

    Thanks for joining us today!

    oooh…the business idea sounds intriguing…..!

Getting dressed in the middle of the night sounds like a real time saver. Lol.

Good luck with your business idea. I have what I think is a brilliant idea for a business. It involves the Merritt Parkway. After 5 yrs of commuting on it I know the idea would succeed. But it’ll never happen b/c no one will run through traffic for me. Sigh.

LOL, I was going to ask if it really was chocolate. After that whole tapeworm debacle I had yesterday, I had to pooper scoop the yard, and let’s just say that the smear I ended up with was not chocolate. Thank god I knew where it came from, or I could have done the lick it and see, too.

I knew a girl, Angie, who used to put her school clothes on at night. I never tried it because I didn’t want wrinkles.

That’s too funny that Joanna got dressed in the middle of the night before climbing in your bed – wonder when Princess Nagger will start doing that? Ooooh! Patent your brilliant idea before you reveal what it is. Hubby is always coming up with brilliant ideas and mentioning them, then they show up a few months later and someone else is getting rich. ;) Glad you didn’t taste the ‘chocolate’ stain just in case… ;)

I’ve never heard of getting your kids dressed for school the night before. It sounds like a good idea, though.

One of my daughters used to sleep in her clothes to shave a couple of minutes of the time it took to get ready in the morning.

Have you tried googling your idea to see if there’s anything out there like it? Or if there has been anything like it?

    Have a great weekend!
