Too Much Information — What the Hell!

datePosted on 12:05, January 20th, 2010 by Small Town Mommy

The girls over at Blue Monkey Butt started a program that invites me to bitch about the things that are bothering me every week.  They call it What the Hell Wednesday.  So here are some of the things that are bugging me.  Warning, this may be too much information.  Do not read any further if you are easily offended.  You have been warned.

Nearly 7 years ago, I had a hysterectomy due to complications after Joanna’s arrival.  It was an emergency hysterectomy which apparently makes it more difficult (I’m not a doctor, this is just what I was told).  You would think the one advantage to having a hysterectomy would be no more periods.  In my case, you would be wrong.  I still have one ovary and apparently still have some uterine tissue which bleeds every month.  WTH?  This month has been worse than most.  I have been getting cramps as well as the usual messy problems.  How can I have cramps when there is nothing left to cramp?  WTH?  It sucks, big time.  What, I warned you.  It isn’t my fault you continued reading anyway.

My cat is bulimic.  WTH?  I am getting tired of cleaning up cat sick.  He is very fluffy and tends to bathe a lot.  I try to brush him but don’t always remember have time.  Unfortunately the girls are even worse about brushing than me.  I always remember after he gets sick, but try to find the cat after he has thrown up.  He heads off to take a nap.  Somehow, throwing up doesn’t seem to bother him the way it does me.  He bounces right back.  At least he sometimes cleans up after himself.

I am finding it harder and harder to leave the house.  I just have no motivation.  It is cold outside and we live far from everything, I just don’t feel like going anywhere.  WTH?  Why can’t everyone just bring stuff to my house?  I wish my library would start a delivery service.

Tomorrow (Thursday), I will post photos and begin taking votes on my new hair color.  Don’t forget to stop by to register your vote.  You can decide what I will look like in 2010.

I got “fixed” after my third child. (Don’t think I’m equating it to a hysterectomy. I’m just saying.) I swear I’ve had worse cramping and much greater volumes of blood ever since. One more thing to blame on my husband. (Who, frankly, coulda woulda shoulda gotten snipped.) There, talk about too much info!

A hysterectomy AND you still have a period??!! Ugh. Crappy.

Cant wait to see the hair color choices!

That really sucks. Sounds like they didn’t do a very good job in the old hysterectomy department. It just doesn’t seem very fair.

Usully our dog cleans up after our cat. At least he’s good for something.

I don’t want to leave the house either. If it’s my day off I won’t go anywhere. I’m waiting for spring.

    Looking forward to the pics!

Thanks for joining us for WTHW!

Library delivery, best idea ever! If it wasn’t for grocery shopping, dropping off the kids at school, picking up the kids at school and church I would never go out.

You could join that paperback swap and have the books sent right to your door…

I’m with you on leaving the house. If only I could get the boss to let me work from home I would be a happy little camper.

    Hi Anne-
Were you diagnosed with endometriosis? You really should not be bleeding after a hysterectomy and unilateral oophectomy. Although it is not an exciting process, I would find a GYN that specializes in these type of women’s issues and consider an arthroscopic surgical procedure to have any residual uterine tissue removed. It can cause scarring, adhesions and “chocolate” cysts (cysts filled with blood). Better to address this sooner than later.

Try a new cat food for the puker. Our cat is a puker. We have him on Spot’s Stew for cats with sensitive stomachs. He used to puke once or twice a week. Now, months can go by in between disgusting hair balls chucked up. He also has a really shiny coat and will unfortunately live that much longer because of the good food we are feeding him.

I would be sueing that dr! That is the one thing I’m happy about with the hysterectomy……no periods! If I still had them, I’d call Joe Sokolove or one of those other stupid tv lawyers! My cat is also bulimic, it sucks! If I didn’t have to go to work I wouldn’t leave the house either, although come summer I’d probably stay home then too.

    Thanks for joining us today!

That is not right to have periods after a hysto. Plain unfair. I had one about 8 years ago and it has been wonderful. for several months I would expect a period around the same time and then go “Oh yea, I don’t have those anymore”. Sorry, don’t mean to rub it in ;-(

That is just plain weird about your “period”. I had a hysterectomy and I don’t have any bleeding–how do you just forget a part of the uterus??? Anywho, I do have both of my ovaries, so I get sorta weird once a month and realize it must be my faux period. I get sort of bloated and I can’t decide on what to wear. It’s weird.

    I love my IUD.

That cat needs some help. I’m not sure from where, but help is needed.

I wish I could get stuff delivered sometimes too.

Glad I didn’t listen to my doctor’s advice to have a hysterectomy when I had the cancer issues – Murphy and his Law like to stalk me so I bet I’d be in the same crazy boat as you. ;)

Our cat seems to be bulimic at times, too – and it grosses me out when the dogs clean up after him. Usually he’s got a hairball forming if he inhales his food then barfs it up – because if I forget to give him his hairball goop, the barf will be followed by a nasty hairball. I know, blech! :)

Looking forward to seeing (and voting) on your hair color! :)

Well I read everything and the only part that stuck was picking the new hair color. Oh, and I’m not going out a lot either. I mean if the kids aren’t here what’s the point of leaving? :)

My chihuahua is a puker, too. I can clean up anything that comes out of him other than the puke. Puke and I do not get along. I’ve learned to turn my head to the side and blindly pick it up. It cuts down slightly on the gagging (mine, not his). Still, even then, I’ve come close to losing it. Luckily, he doesn’t do it so much I’d call him bulemic. I’m so sorry you can’t say the same for your cat.

Very weird that there would still be periods after a hysterectomy. Talk about not fair!
