My guess is Clothes Washing Machine.

My appliance nightmare was a BRAND NEW Frigidaire Refrigerator. Bought it brand new at Best Buy. When the summer months came around the food in the freezer melted, the stuff in the fridge section was warm. I called for repairs several times. Service guy came out, said he needed to order a part, a week later, still no part, call back, oh yeah right, your part is right here. Guy would come out and install it and days later, same thing. After I had gone out and bought food to fill the fridge. Called for service again and the guy tells me (I kid you not), he tells me that "it's summer, it's hot, sometimes your stuff might melt, it's normal". Say what? Anyway, service guy came out at least 5 times. I ended up having to buy a large dorms style fridge so we could keep cold milk on hand and so on. I lost so much money in spoiled food. Finally I got all tech savvy and went online and emailed a complaint. I got a call a couple of days later, they wanted to replace it. I said no way, I want to buy what I want to buy, not someone elses reject. They offered to buy my unit back and pick up the new dead fridge. They did and I bought a Whirlpool Side by Side which I loved and miss because it was sold with my previous home.

How about you put something you shouldn't have in the garbage disposal, and it launched shrapnel at high rates of speed through out the kitchen?
That would be cool!

I think "Revolt of the Household Appliances" would make a great movie with Ben Stiller, don't you?! LOL!

I'm going to go wit dishwasher. Mostly because that is my own fear. I love my dishwasher and I put everything in there. I'd throw the kids in there if I could. Anything that works while I take a nap is the bomb! Sorry about all your appliance bad karma.

Dishwasher, spurting water all over the place?

(Though I did like the thought of the garbage disposer going because I've been through five in the 13 years with my husband. He blames their demises utterly on me.

I'm going to guess the dishwasher, since usually when the fridge dies it is somewhat anticlimactic. It gets warm, your food spoils, the end. I'm envisioning water sprays and soap gurgling forth, but I could be wrong.

I'm guessing fridge. I'm not guessing dishwasher because the person above me did and I just saw that and I would feel like I was cheating. Darn my mother and her amazing/honest upbringing! Argh!

My appliances always died during or right before or after a major holiday. Taking laundry out to the laundromat on Christmas Eve is one of my 'fondest' memories.
