We are a musical family.  I don’t know how it happened since I struggled through piano lessons growing up but my kids love music.  My oldest plays the trumpet and apparently plays it pretty darn well.  My youngest plays the guitar and has also tried the violin and the trombone (have I mentioned that the trombine is friggin’ huge).

We have been lucky.  Our school has a strong music program and we have only had to schedule guitar lessons.  Although now that my oldest is moving to high school, we may have to add trumpet lessons.

Oreo likes to lie on my belly (apparently it is soft and cozy).  While he is cuddling, he practices new tricks (when he isn’t being petted which is his favorite trick).

I did nothing all day.  No cooking.  No cleaning.  No working.  It was fabulous.

Oreo enjoyed my Mother’s Day gifts.  We (I say we since Oreo uses it too) received a treadmill.  Here is Oreo enjoying the treadmill.

I guess yesterday was actually all about Oreo.

So we had to get a new car.  I wasn’t planning to get a new car.  I didn’t have time to go car shopping.  I didn’t have the money to go car shopping.  I didn’t even have the desire to go car shopping.  Have I mentioned that I hate car shopping (I have never met a car dealer I like)?

Have I mentioned that this is the second time I have been car shopping for my husband since I have bought my car?  That’s right, my car just keeps on going.  I have almost 100,000 miles on my car and it just keeps driving.

So I have spent a large part of this week car shopping.  We did find a car and my husband is mobile again.  We bought him a Nissan Juke (yea, I never heard of it either).

He feels my full-time job should be petting the kitty.  He doesn’t understand why that doesn’t happen.

Work has been busy but I feel like a cat chasing my tail (always just out of reach).  I know things will move along, it’s just a tough period (and Oreo wants less tail chasing and more kitty petting).

Oreo missed his Meow Monday assignment, WTH!?!  He has one responsibility and he fell down on the job.  He claims he has been busy with paperwork but I don’t know if I believe him.

The day is half over and I am just getting around to posting something, WTH!?!  I have been out at meetings all morning and have half an hour until kids start returning from school (damn early dismissal).  I am starting to think the schools just hate me.  Of course, if I wasn’t such a procrastinator, I would have put a blog post together before now and just been ready for it to go live.  That would require too much planning for my taste.

For some reason, my computer always connects to the wrong wireless, WTH!?!  I don’t even know whose wireless it is but it is very weak.  I don’t understand why it doesn’t want to connect to ours.

I think I am going deaf, WTH!?!  I thought I had a 10 am phone meeting but it was an 11 am in person meeting (which I discovered after I had changed into my fancy work sweat pants).  The meeting was set up by phone so I blame my lack of hearing for the confusion.

Well, that’s all I got.  I got distracted by shiny objects and ended up being even later than expected.  Hopefully, someone still cares.

We are well into April and except for those in Minnesota (who have snow), we are enjoying April showers.

In addition to enjoying his photo shoots, Oreo likes to pretend.  His latest adventure is pretending to be a spaceman (spacecat?).

Unfortunately, every day is not dedicated to me.  That’s what makes Mother’s Day that much sweeter.

Speaking of sweet, I think cupcakes are a fabulous way to celebrate all that is me.  I happen to love cupcakes.  They make sure I don’t overindulge since they come in a single serving size.  The cupcake is one of the world’s most perfect foods.

I recently ordered a dozen cupcakes from Shari’s Berries.  They came in vanilla, chocolate and red velvet (I wanted to take a photo for you but the cupcakes got eaten too fast.  I can tell you, they looked fabulous).

They tasted great too.  They arrived frozen so we were able to keep them in the fridge and eat them over a period of 3 days (3 wonderful, delicious days).

If you want to celebrate all that is me, please do.  Of course, you might want to celebrate all that is somebody else.  I’ll understand.  But hopefully, in the Small Town, there will be cupcakes again.
