Hamlet and the Screaming Slingshot Monkey

If you have voted for the name for my GPS, thank you.  If not, please vote in the center column (please, please, please, please, please).  I need your help and you can reward the efforts of all the kind readers who took the time to actually try to come up with a name for the rude thing.

Since the pleading is finished, I want to get to the real post… I am going to introduce you to the fabulous gift our neighbors gave to Hamlet.  Frank and Hamlet went to the neighbors to help them move a treadmill (ok, Frank went to help them move, Hamlet just went because he likes to visit the neighbors.  He isn’t much help with heavy lifting).

While there, the neighbors gave Hamlet something called a screaming slingshot monkey.

The neighbors had gotten one for their dog and had a spare.  Frank and Hamlet brought it home and Hamlet hated it.  It makes some kind of weird howling noise and it scared the crap out of him.  When trying to find it online, I discovered the target age is 12 year old boys, which explains why Frank likes it.

Hamlet finally accepted it when I shot it across the room for him (for some insane reason, the dog trusts me, no accounting for taste).  It is really rather satisfying to shoot it across the room.  I recommend it for when the kids get out of hand (social services frowns on shooting the kids across the room).

Hamlet has since decided he will keep it (to be honest, he has taken it somewhere, never to be seen again, I am stuck here alone with my out-of-hand children).

I am a little concerned that it may not be constructed well enough to withstand intense doggie chewing, I am hoping we wont have another post about something bad happening to Hamlet (Hamlet and the Screaming Slingshot Monkey, Part 2).  Let’s hope I don’t have to do an Internet search for “dog ate screaming slingshot monkey.”
