Random Tuesday or Please Help Me Choose a ComputerAs you can tell from the title, I am again participating in the Random Tuesday Thoughts, although I have discovered that I don’t just limit my random thoughts to Tuesday. Apparently I am an all random, all the time kind of girl. But on Tuesday, it looks like an official project and makes me feel like I belong (and nobody is snippy so it beats the heck out of the PTA). Anyway, my computer is deceased. That’s right. The machine that launched Small Town Mommy is just a very expensive paperweight. According to Small Town Daddy IT support, nothing else can be done for it except a respectful burial. We will be having a memorial service once the snow melts. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Idiots Addicted to Technology, a self-help support group I am considering starting. Here is where you come in (and the real reason I am telling you that it no longer works). Since Idiots Addicted to Technology doesn’t actually exist yet, I need to feed my addiction by purchasing another laptop. I am trying to avoid another situation with a lemon like my horrible HP (yes, this is the second time the hardware has failed and that time it was under warranty and went back to HP). Tell me what computer you have and if you like it or not. Tell me any really good or really bad experiences you have had. For all you Mac fans, I already know. I can’t afford to buy all new software along with a new laptop, so I have to stay in the Windows world. Speaking of failing technology, I think my alarm clock is broken. Granted, I stole borrowed it from someone 25 years ago, but it didn’t pick a great time to die. Maybe I can get a combination laptop/alarm clock or someone will buy me an alarm clock as a gift (St. Patrick’s Day is coming, people. Shop early and avoid the rush). Yesterday, we got a foot of snow so the whole family stayed home. Small Town Daddy worked from home which makes things even worse because it means I have to keep the ladies out of his way. Everyone finally went back to work and school today. Woo hoo, they are out of my office. I think the groundhog is sitting in his hole, laughing his furry little butt off. I hope you enjoyed my random thoughts this week. I know they sound depressed, but I have had a foot of snow and failed technology, all in the same day. That is more than anyone should have to deal with. Stop by to see Keely at the UnMom. She and her other participants are probably much more upbeat than me right now. |
